I completed my medical degree at the University of Birmingham Medical School in the United Kingdom in 2022, taking a year out to complete further research in the History of Medicine for which I received a BMedSci in 2020. It gave me the chance to write a dissertation on the changes in anti-smoking agenda and campaigns throughout the 20th century in the UK, and lit up an interest in delving into further clinical projects. Throughout my time in medical school, I had a growing passion for teaching. Not only is it fulfilling being able to pass on your own knowledge, but it helps expand your own thinking in ways you may otherwise have not had the chance. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to educate colleagues on BLS early on during my studies; following this, I was able to pursue my joy for educating by forming bi-weekly clinical teaching sessions for juniors to aid their understanding on a wide array of medical topics.

Personal interest and hobbies:
Hailing from the United Kingdom, it's normal for me to be a huge fan of soccer. Formula 1 is another growing interest of mine, with karting becoming a new interest that I'd like to put more time and effort into. Road tripping around Europe is one of the most fun things I have had the chance to do. A blast of different food, people and cultures over a short time frame is exciting and mind-opening, made better enjoying it with family. I would love to get the chance to do something similar in the US.

Why I chose Internal Medicine:
I chose Internal Medicine because I liked the idea of treating patients with a holistic approach where you address every issue they have going on. The idea of managing medically complex patients and formulating plans that take into account the interplay between their different disease processes fascinates me.

Why I chose the Indiana University School of Medicine Internal Medicine Southwest program:
I have lived in Indiana for eight years and I consider it home for me now. I would like to contribute to the overall welfare of the community I live in, and I felt that the IU Evansville program and I aligned in those interests.

Personal interests and hobbies:
In my free time, I like to play/watch basketball (particularly the NBA) and tennis. I also enjoy hanging out with my friends and visiting new places.

Why I chose Internal Medicine:
Being able to solve the mystery of a clinical presentation by looking at how an illness has manifested itself in terms of signs, symptoms, laboratory changes, and radiological findings is highly congruent with my investigative persona. Additionally, seeing patients improve once a correct diagnosis has been reached and the right treatment has been administered is highly rewarding. I also like the diversity in career options that this field offers whether to be a PCP to choosing a certain sub specialty. For these reasons, I found that specializing in internal medicine was the best fit for me.

Why I chose the Indiana University School of Medicine Internal Medicine Southwest program:
I chose this program because it combines best of both worlds  of training in an Academic (Indiana University based) and community settings. Program's faculty and their commitment and focus on teaching residents was a major factor as well. On a spiritual level I also liked the idea of being a part of answering the call of need of primary care physicians in Vinccence due to their shortage which is really very rewarding especially after knowing how this program impacted patients in this special community.

Personal interests and hobbies:
I really enjoy talking to people and getting to know them and their cultural backgrounds. In my free time I like reading, free writing, playing video games, analyzing poems and song lyrics. I'm also interested in technology, religions, linguistics, and trying different dishes from around the world.

Why I chose Internal Medicine:
Coming from a prior background in Human Physiology, I have always enjoyed learning and teaching concepts of multi-organ systems. Internal medicine offers a broad range of knowledge and pathologies. I appreciate this aspect of internal medicine as I believe that having comprehensive knowledge provides the tools to troubleshoot complex disease processes that may involve multiple organ systems. As an internal medicine physician, I must know the complete story of my patient. This field allows me to connect with my patients on a deeper level and build amazing doctor-patient relationships. To hear the complete story of every patient I see is a lucrative gift offered by internal medicine that motivates me to pursue this field.

Why I chose the Indiana University School of Medicine Internal Medicine Southwest program:
IU southwest internal medicine residency program is innovative, resourceful, supportive, constantly improving, and open to change. I wanted to become a part of a program where the voice of residents is heard. Program leadership takes residents feedback into consideration to support the need for further improvements in GME.  Faculty and leadership are very well experienced, dedicated, and accomplished in the field of GME. I knew I would get world-class medical training with this residency. The program location is very ideal, neighboring five or six major cities within a few hours distance, so there are a lot of opportunities in the future to live and continue to work in southwest Indiana and next-door cities/states. Having the opportunity to rotate through rural and urban settings in one single program was one of the main reasons I chose this program.

Personal interests and hobbies:
Whenever I have some free time during my routine, I enjoy long-distance running and prefer hiking if there is natural terrain nearby. There is nothing I find more refreshing or exciting than traveling and discovering something new! I love meeting people from various backgrounds, hearing their stories, and sharing their unique experiences and culture. My recent interest also includes aerial photo-videography. I enjoy capturing scenic routes and nature. Apart from these, I am passionate about personal fitness and bodybuilding.
