Indiana University School of Medicine—Bloomington

The Bloomington campus of the Indiana University School of Medicine is the largest regional campus outside of Indianapolis. With over 100 medical students in all four years of medical education, students enjoy the same high quality curriculum delivered on all IU School of Medicine campuses in basic mechanisms of disease, clinical science and health system science. The small class cohort allows for individualized attention and comradery amongst the students. The Health Sciences Building is collocated with the Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital, a 365-bed, level 3 trauma center, stroke and STEMI center, and a nursing magnet hospital. This proximity allows medical students and the over 350 adjunct faculty to meet easily in both clinical and classroom settings.

Because it is located on the iconic flagship IU Bloomington campus, students have the opportunity to interact with students and faculty in other disciplines and enjoy a Big 10 collegiate environment. In addition, IU School of Medicine—Bloomington faculty uniquely educate undergraduate students in courses such as anatomy, physiology, mind body medicine, parasitology, histology, embryology and genetics. These courses form the backbone of the medical sciences minor, a popular course of study for undergraduate students. IU School of Medicine—Bloomington also offers two PhD programs: one in cell and molecular cancer biology, and one in anatomy and physiology education. Faculty and graduate students for these programs teach and learn alongside medical students, providing a wide breadth of experience and exposure.
