As summer intensifies, Indiana emergency rooms see an influx of heat-related patients. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, heat waves also increase death rates from cardiovascular, respiratory and cerebrovascular diseases.
Stepsis is able to answer questions on common heat-related illnesses and injuries, from surface and sun burns to heat stroke and dehydration, as well as more serious health concerns.
