Thank you for your interest in the Indiana University School of Medicine Adult Neuroimmunology and Autoimmune Neurology Fellowship program. As the state’s only academic medical center and Center for Comprehensive Care through the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, IU School of Medicine takes pride in providing high quality neuroimmunological care to our patients.
The neuroimmunology and autoimmune neurology section at IU School of Medicine is comprised of four fellowship-trained physicians with a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and clinical and research interests. We have a dedicated Multiple Sclerosis Center at the Goodman Hall IU Health Neuroscience Center, which houses our outpatient clinics and infusion center.
Our fellowship is comprised of a one-year program with one funded position. Fellows have a dedicated clinic workspace and work closely with faculty to evaluate a variety of neuroinflammatory diseases including multiple sclerosis and neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder. As applications for immunotherapies increase for indications such as cancers, systemic autoimmunities and other neurologic diseases, we often work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Fellows typically attend the European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis, Americas Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis, Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers conference, or the American Academy of Neurology annual conference. Research projects throughout fellowship are also encouraged with potential for presentation at department Grand Rounds or conferences with support for travel funds.
Our team is committed to our fellows’ success as clinicians, researchers and advocates in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Thank you for your interest in this program, and we look forward to training aspiring neuroimmunologists. Please reach out with any questions, and we hope to meet you soon!
