The Vascular Neurology Fellowship program in the Department of Neurology at Indiana University School of Medicine is a one-year, ACGME-accredited program that provides advanced training in the contemporary care of all vascular neurological conditions, including ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke. Through a combination of clinical, didactic and research experiences, the fellowship program trains outstanding vascular neurologists who bring excellence, integrity, professionalism and evidence-based practice to patients in the communities they serve.
Curriculum and Didactics
The curriculum and didactic experience for the vascular fellowship is robust. Throughout the year, fellows work through a curriculum published on Canvas with recommended articles following an important progression of vascular neurology themes. Each month a faculty member acts as the point person for the established theme, leading discussions, answering questions and providing exclusive lectures for the fellow.
Additionally, the fellow takes part in departmental and interdisciplinary teaching conferences including Grand Rounds and neurology case conferences. The vascular neurology fellow leads discussions during the vascular case conference and journal club. The fellow participates in the peer review process and endovascular case conference.
