The Pediatric Residency program at Indiana University School of Medicine provides outstanding clinical training in the full breadth and depth of pediatrics by providing residents with a diverse set of experiences specifically curated to prepare them for their future careers. Our residents graduate the program as primary care pediatricians, hospitalists, subspecialists, researchers, community and public health providers, global health innovators, and take on additional leadership positions. Each year, our program accepts 25 categorical pediatrics residents in addition to other residents who are part of our unique combined pediatrics programs. Curriculum and Opportunities
The residency program curriculum offers robust core experiences with many individual tailored opportunities. While each resident will get exposure to both primary care and the most medically complex patients and rare diseases, we offer individualization via our clinical tracks for residents to choose the best path for their individual career journey.
Research
The Department of Pediatrics is consistently ranked in the top 10 percent nationally for research funding, and our program is dedicated to supporting residents in exploring research endeavors.
Scholarly Tracks and Pathways
Training pathways are two year certificate programs that provide residents and fellows with additional knowledge, skills and professional preparation alongside their chosen medical specialty. Participation in a training pathway occurs concurrently with residency or fellowship training. At IU School of Medicine, we offer training pathways in Clinical Education, Global Health, Health Equity and Leadership.

Application and Interview Process
Applications for the pediatrics program are reviewed beginning in late September with interviews taking place October through January.
