I am honored to introduce you to the Indiana University School of Medicine Sleep Medicine Fellowship Program. Sleep medicine is such an important and exciting field as we now understand that sleep disorders can have a strong negative impact on so many other medical problems. I personally became interested in sleep medicine as a neurology resident, when I struggled at times with the high frequency of patients that worsened or only minimally improved despite best efforts. However, I quickly found with recognition and treatment of sleep disorders that many neurologic and other medical problems as well as quality of life improved. I knew sleep medicine was a field I could make a difference and improve people’s lives. You can and will make a difference.
As a part of a large academic center, we provide a comprehensive, diverse, and multidisciplinary experience with excellent faculty who are very involved and interested in your education. In our sleep medicine program, we strongly value the diversity of our faculty and past and future fellows. We strive to build a culture of an inclusive and supportive environment for all faculty and fellows. As a proud graduate of our sleep medicine fellowship at IU School of Medicine, I can directly attest to the greatness of this program. This fellowship, IU School of Medicine, and Indianapolis are truly special.
Our past fellows have come from a variety of primary specialties. Upon graduation of this program, fellows are very prepared as they take the next step in their career. About half of our previous fellows have pursued careers in academic medicine with many staying on as faculty at IU School of Medicine. We understand that every fellow has unique career goals and interests, and we have the ability to tailor your rotations and schedule to fit your needs and future goals. Our promise is to work closely with you to prepare you for a successful career in sleep medicine. Our fellows become a part of our sleep medicine family, and we are privileged to be a part of your growth and education.
Please feel free to directly contact me or our program coordinator if you have any questions about the Indiana University School of Medicine Program.
Sincerely,
