Isaiah C. Ingram, MD
PGY 4
Undergraduate School: University of Toledo
Medical School: University of Louisville School of Medicine
Residency: Indiana University School of Medicine, Pediatrics
Why did you pursue an allergy/immunology fellowship? I was a child with severe asthma and allergies. Working with my allergist as a young adult allowed me to have significant improvement in my own symptoms and quality of life. I wanted to become an allergist/immunologist so I can make the same kind of impact on patients and improve their quality of life.
What do you like about the IU School of Medicine program? IU serves a diverse patient population that represents many different demographics which will help prepare me to see patients of all backgrounds once I have completed training, regardless of where I end up practicing. There is a good balance of pediatric and adult patients, something that is unique to the allergy/immunology field. Our support staff and administration are always supporting our needs as physicians, physicians in-training and as humans.
Research/QI interests? High-risk asthma
Future plans? Caring for both children and adults as a clinician and being able to teach medical students and junior physicians.
Hobbies/Interests? Powerlifting, roller coasters, college football (Go Buckeyes!), visiting coffee shops and breweries and playing video games. I also like my fiancée, Imani.
What do you enjoy in Indianapolis? Indianapolis is a great sports city and always has amazing events coming into town like the March Madness tournament, concerts, Gen Con, Circle City Classic, NBA All-Star weekend and more. Its been a great place for making friends, trying a variety of foods and having new experiences!
