Why did you pursue a pulmonary fellowship/allergy immunology fellowship? I have always been fascinated by pulmonary medicine and that interest only grew throughout my residency training. I love the variety within pediatric pulmonology and found that it offers the perfect blend of inpatient and outpatient medicine, allowing me to build long-term relationships with patients and families while also caring for them during hospital admissions.

What do you like about the IU School of Medicine program? As a pediatric resident at IU, I was able to see firsthand the supportive and collaborative environment within the pulmonary division. I was also drawn to the strong inpatient clinical experience, the diverse multidisciplinary programs, and the opportunity to learn from faculty with a wide range of expertise.

Research/QI interests? I am interested in multidisciplinary care and how team-based approaches can improve outcomes for children with pulmonary diseases. My clinical and research interests include bronchopulmonary dysplasia, cystic fibrosis, and asthma.

Future plans? I hope to practice in an academic medical center where I can combine inpatient and outpatient clinical care with my interests in medical education, research, and quality improvement.

Hobbies/ Interests? In my free time, I enjoy reading, walking, biking, and camping. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends and exploring new coffee shops and restaurants around Indianapolis.

What do you enjoy in Indianapolis? I love that Indianapolis is a large city with a "small town feel." There is always something to do, whether it's attending concerts or sporting events, trying new restaurants, or exploring different neighborhoods and suburbs.

Why did you pursue an Allergy/ Immunology fellowship? I pursued a fellowship in A/I as I really enjoy continuity of care and managing my patients long-term. It is extremely rewarding to see the relief we can give patients from their chronic symptoms. I also love the breadth within Allergy-Immunology. In the same clinic day, I can go from managing food allergies to severe asthma to CVID.

What do you like about the IU School of Medicine program? I love that the program gives me a good breadth of training in both pediatric and adult patients. I have the opportunity to rotate through a highly specialized immunology clinic in addition to various high-risk asthma and allergy clinics.

Research/QI interests? My research interests include eosinophilic esophagitis, CVID, and healthcare disparities.

Future plans? My plans after training are to stay local and work in a practice seeing both adults and children.

Hobbies/ Interests? I love true crime podcasts, reading mystery books, and traveling to as many countries as I can! I also enjoy trying new restaurants locally and exploring all the parks in the area with my daughters.

What do you enjoy in Indianapolis? I have called Indianapolis home my entire life. It was a wonderful place to grow up and now raise a family. We have great restaurants, parks, and experiences for everyone!
