Orthopaedic Sports Medicine

The Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine is a one-year accredited ACGME program.

Clinical Experience

Fellows rotate through a variety of experiences in the Indianapolis and Bloomington area under the direction of the program director, Joshua Everhart, MD, MPH, and other clinical faculty.

Fellows are responsible for inpatient and outpatient musculoskeletal care, emphasizing evidence-based decision-making. Training includes didactic lectures, case presentations, critical reviews of peer-reviewed journals, weekly indications conferences and an extensive surgical and office experience with the various faculty surgeons. The opportunity for clinical and basic science research is offered and encouraged throughout the fellowship.

Admissions

All fellowship applicants must apply for open positions exclusively through the San Francisco Match. The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) oversees the fellowship match. Registration and match are administered by the San Francisco Matching Program (SF Match), designed to be a transparent, unbiased match process. The match takes place in April, one year before the active start date, and after the application and interview process has ended and confidential rank lists are sent to the SF Match.
