2024 ASCPT Abstracts and Awards Announced

Omar Aboshady, MD, MSc, has been selected to present in an Oral Poster Session titled, Changes In QTC Across Different Trimesters of Pregnancy and Pre-Eclampsia: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

Surya Bhamidipaty-Pelosi, MD, MS, DRANZCOG’s abstract, Characterization of Labetalol in Pregnancy (the CLIP Study) has been accepted as a Trials in Progress abstract.

Aislinn O’Kane, PharmD’s abstract, Physiologically Based Pharmacokinetic Model to Assess the Impact of Genetic Variability in Patients Receiving Dexmedetomidine has been accepted for presentation at the ASCPT 2024 Annual Meeting.

’s abstract, Inhibition of Tacrolimus Metabolism by Cannabidiol and Its Metabolites In Vitro, has been accepted for presentation and will be receiving a Presidential Trainee Award at the ASCPT 2024 Annual Meeting. In recognition of this high-quality abstract, Gerald has also been chosen as a recipient of a Top Poster Ribbon.

’s abstract, Oral Progesterone-Mediated Attenuation of Ibutilide-Induced QT Interval Lengthening in Premenopausal and Postmenopausal Women: Population Pharmacokinetic/Pharmacodynamic Model has been accepted for presentation and will be receiving a Presidential Trainee Award at the ASCPT 2024 Annual Meeting. In recognition of this high-quality abstract, Min has also been chosen as a recipient of a Top Poster Ribbon.

Syed Zaidi, PharmD, PhD has been selected to present, DEVELOPMENT AND VERIFICATION OF A NIFEDIPINE CONTROLLED RELEASE PHYSIOLOGICALLY-BASED PHARMACOKINETIC MODEL IN PREGNANCY, and will be receiving a Presidential Trainee Award. In recognition of this high-quality abstract, Syed has also been chosen as a recipient of a Top Poster Ribbon.

Meena S. Madhur, MD, PhD, to lead Division of Clinical Pharmacology

Meena S. Madhur, MD, PhD, has been named the new Director the Division of Clinical Pharmacology in the Department of Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine. She will begin this role August 15, 2023.

IU School of Medicine and Lilly partnership achieves success in science and oversight

In 2020, a partnership between Indiana University School of Medicine and Eli Lilly and Company was created to collaborate in specific areas of scientific development. Leaders of this effort say the progress so far from the five year, $5 million collaboration is a good sign for potential expansion in the future.
