IU School of Medicine Research Featured in Medical News Today

Paul Territo, PhD sitting in labSenior study author, Paul R. Territo, PhD, Professor of Medicine (pictured), Postdoctoral Fellow, Juan Antonio Chong Chie, and team reveal how changes in brain blood flow and metabolism may help detect Alzheimer's earlier.

This retrospective study of more than 400 subjects from the Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI), identifies key stages in disease development, which align to medical imaging, clinical cognitive assessments, and blood transcriptomic, and aims to stratify patients for treatment before irreversible damage can occur.

Jess Raffa is recipient of the 14th Annual Indiana CTSI Pharmacometrics Modeling and Simulation Best Poster award for his poster titled, "Characterizing Progesterone-and Metabolite-Mediated Modulation of hERG Repolarizing Potassium Current."

Meena S. Madhur, MD, PhD, to lead Division of Clinical Pharmacology

Meena S. Madhur, MD, PhD, has been named the new Director the Division of Clinical Pharmacology in the Department of Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine. She will begin this role August 15, 2023.

IU Alzheimer’s study awarded nearly $50 million by NIH to continue groundbreaking research

The second largest federally funded research program at Indiana University School of Medicine will receive $48.8 million over the next five years, fueling the work of researchers as they seek to discover treatments for Alzheimer’s disease.

IU School of Medicine and Lilly partnership achieves success in science and oversight

In 2020, a partnership between Indiana University School of Medicine and Eli Lilly and Company was created to collaborate in specific areas of scientific development. Leaders of this effort say the progress so far from the five year, $5 million collaboration is a good sign for potential expansion in the future.
