Message from the Program Director
Welcome to the Family Medicine Residency at Indiana University School of Medicine, situated at Methodist Hospitals in Merrillville, Indiana. Methodist Hospitals is a non-profit health system dedicated to community health, featuring two comprehensive acute care hospitals and a rehabilitation center across our Southlake, Northlake and Midlake campuses.
For over 100 years, we have proudly served the healthcare needs of residents in northwest Indiana, and we are conveniently located just 30 minutes from the architectural landmarks, world-class museums and vibrant culture of Chicago, IL. Our commitment to enhancing community health is evident through our patient-centered care, the implementation of innovative technologies and adherence to the latest safety protocols.
The Family Medicine Residency program encompasses 12 residency positions within a 36-month curriculum. Our dedicated faculty provides personalized instruction in a supportive environment, fostering both professional growth and personal development through teaching, mentorship and hands-on training.
As we prepare for our inaugural class starting on July 1, 2027, I am eager to contribute to the program and to collaborate with our residents, guiding them in their journey to becoming competent and independent physicians for years to come.
