Congenital heart disease is the most common birth defect in the United States. Infants born with a heart defect are a particularly vulnerable population, with the needs of both a newborn and a patient with a heart condition. Riley Hospital for Children has created a one-of-a-kind unit that brings together world class neonatologists, cardiologists, cardiac intensivists and pediatric cardiothoracic surgeons to provide the most comprehensive care for these patients. The Department of Pediatrics partners with IU Health advanced practice providers to provide excellent clinical care in neonatal-perinatal medicine.
