Clinical Care

Pediatric hospital medicine faculty at IU School of Medicine work with patients at five different IU Health hospitals with an emphasis on family-centered care. The multidisciplinary approach of pediatric hospitalists at IU School of Medicine prioritizes collaboration across subspecialties and healthcare disciplines. Communication with referring physicians and hospitals is a high priority, and hospitalists work to safely transfer care back to primary care providers and their medical home at the time of discharge.

Accomplished pediatricians training the next generation

Excellence in teaching is a highly valued aspect to advancing the mission of better health for children. Direct contact with patients in a family-centered care format allows residents, fellows, medical students, nurse practitioner students and physician assistant students to train under the guidance of faculty physicians. Through educating the next generation of healthcare professionals, IU School of Medicine pediatric hospitalists expand their advocacy for the health and well-being of children in Indiana and beyond.
