Hospital Medicine Education Program

The Hospital Medicine Education program offers first-year medical students the opportunity to spend a portion of their summer learning about clinical medicine and community health in a community hospital. Depending on the participating hospital, the summer experiences may run from four to eight weeks where students spend up to 40 hours/week at the hospital. Students may not hold other jobs concurrently that would be in direct conflict with the hospital program obligations.

For questions about the Hospital Medicine Education program or application, please contact Katie Williamson

Application Process

First-year medical students will be provided the names and contact information for the hospitals that are offering the program in spring 2025. Students will then apply directly to the hospital.
