Attending national scientific meetings and conferences offers students an avenue to present their research and build their experience in preparation for residency applications.

AAMC Physician Scientist Training Program
The AAMC Physician Scientist Training Program (PSTP) is a postgraduate initiative designed to support MD, DO or MD/PhD graduates committed to careers as academic physician-scientists. These programs integrate clinical training with dedicated research time to prepare participants for faculty roles that combine patient care with scientific discovery.

Child Family Health International Programs
Child Family Health International (CFHI) is a global family of health professionals and students working at the grassroots level to improve the health of the world community. We carry out our mission by supporting our international partner communities through community health projects and Global Health Immersion Programs. CFHI’s 20+ programs in five countries connect local health professionals with international students for 4-12 weeks and give first-hand insight into healthcare in underserved communities. Through CFHI programs, participants transform perspectives about self and about global health and healing.

The Duke Program on Global Policy and Governance is the only program of its kind. We prepare graduate and professional students from around the world to tackle the world’s most pressing policy challenges. Through summer internships and an intensive, one-week course, our fellows gain unparalleled access to UN agencies and other leading Geneva-based institutions.
