Impaired Student Program

The Impaired Medical Student Program provides students with appropriate educational experiences relating to substance abuse problems.

A treatment component of the program, administered by the Indiana State Medical Association’s Commission on Physician Assistance, permits a student to seek help confidentially.

Referrals to the commission can be self-generated or made by concerned faculty, friends or family members. A report to the school is made only in the event the student does not comply with the treatment plan.
