Flow Cytometry Core

The Flow Cytometry Core Facility offers state-of-the-art flow cytometry analysis and cell sorting for Stark Neurosciences Research Institute-affiliated researchers. Several thousand cells can be analyzed and processed using the equipment in a minute.

Help design panels and optimize experimental plans.

18-parameter (16 fluorescence, FSC, SSC) cell analyzer

The X-20 accepts FALCON brand polystyrene 5mL FACS tubes, with an optional 96 wellplate sampler (HTS)

14-parameter (12 fluorescence, FSC, SSC) cell sorting flow cytometer housed in a biosafety cabinet. It can also be used as a non-sorting cell analyzer.

Sorting chips are a required consumable for running the Sony, and cost $40/each. 100 micron chips (general-purpose sorting) and 130 micron chips (for large and fragile cells) are available. If you need 130 micron chips, please reach out ahead of time as these are infrequently used.

The MA900 has two sets of colinear exciter lasers, pairing 405+647 and 488+561. This requires careful consideration when designing flow panels for use on the MA900.
