Engineering and Data Sciences

This cross-institutional team connects technical expertise with biological and clinical questions in musculoskeletal health. Working across Indiana University, Purdue University, the University of Notre Dame, Regenstrief Institute and partner organizations, members form multidisciplinary collaborations around unmet research and clinical needs.

The team works closely with the Purdue Center for Musculoskeletal Engineering (PCME) and ICMH research cores to develop new research programs, strengthen collaborative funding proposals and move promising approaches from discovery through validation and translation. As a cross-cutting ICMH team, it provides a forum for investigators from every musculoskeletal research area to pursue engineering-driven and data-intensive questions

Who We Are

Our mission is to accelerate musculoskeletal discovery and translation by connecting engineering, data science and clinical expertise. We catalyze collaborative research, develop rigorous, reproducible and interpretable methods, and advance technologies that improve the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions.

We envision a connected statewide research ecosystem in which engineering innovation and trustworthy data science enable earlier detection, more precise interventions, improved recovery and lifelong mobility.
