Education and Training in Musculoskeletal Health

The Indiana Center for Musculoskeletal Health (ICMH) trains doctoral students, medical students and postdoctoral fellows to advance discovery in bone, muscle, joint and connective tissue health. Through interdisciplinary research, mentorship and hands-on scientific training, ICMH prepares the next generation of musculoskeletal health innovators.

Training across discovery, translation and clinical impact

Musculoskeletal health research requires scientists who can work across biological systems, research methods and clinical questions. ICMH brings together investigators and trainees from basic science, translational research, clinical research, engineering, imaging, data science and rehabilitation to address complex problems in musculoskeletal disease, injury and recovery.

Education at ICMH is built around a center-based training environment. Trainees learn within a collaborative research community that connects laboratory discovery with patient-centered impact and prepares learners for careers in academia, industry, government, clinical research and biomedical innovation.

Musculoskeletal Health Sciences PhD

The Musculoskeletal Health Sciences PhD program prepares graduate students for research careers focused on bone, muscle, joint, neuromusculoskeletal function, mechanobiology, tissue repair, disease and injury.
