Save the date: Inaugural MIRI Biennial

Join us on Nov. 6 from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at Joseph E. Walther Hall for the Inaugural MIRI Biennial. The conference will showcase the latest advances in interventional MRI research and technology. The biennial is designed for radiologists, interventional physicians, biomedical engineers, imaging scientists, technology developers, trainees and industry partners interested in the future of MR-guided therapies. Registration closes Oct. 21.

Cardiovascular imaging fellow supports ongoing research on severe bleeding after heart attack

Moksh Sanjay Khetan, a postdoctoral fellow at the Medical Imaging Research Institute's Cardiovascular Imaging Research Center at IU School of Medicine is working with other scientists to identify the molecular mechanisms behind the high release of cardiac troponin-I in heart attack patients that experience severe internal bleeding and remodeling of the heart muscle.

Imaging research reveals risk, missing piece to post heart attack care

Findings recently published in JACC: Case Reports via cardiovascular imaging show that extensive bleeding in the heart muscle, called intramyocardial hemorrhage during a heart attack, can generate an intense internal “tug of war” in and around the heart muscle.
