Led by Alex Robling, PhD; Matthew Allen, PhD, and core manager Dan Horan, the Animal Phenotyping Core coordinates expertise, techniques, and equipment to facilitate morphological and mechanical phenotyping of bone and muscle tissues. The Animal Phenotyping Core offers a suite of essential services, established protocols, and scientific expertise to assess bone and muscle.
Additionally, the core provides consultation, training, and education in all techniques provided and will stay relevant on emerging areas through professional development of technical staff. For more information on training/consultations, please email Dan Horan. The Animal Phenotyping Core focuses on areas of innovation and development, such as integrated Raman/Nano indentation analyses, which will provide state-of-the-art assessment of spatially matched tissue matrix characteristics and mechanical properties.
