Education Programs

The Department of Radiation Oncology at IU School of Medicine offers educational programming at all levels of training, including undergraduate radiation therapy training, MD courses, and medical and physics residency programs — all taught by accomplished experts in this field of medicine.

MD Training

For medical students interested in gaining experience in radiation oncology, the IU School of Medicines offers third- and- fourth-year elective clerkship rotations at clinical facilities on the IU School of Medicine—Indianapolis campus.

Residencies

The Radiation Oncology residency at IU School of Medicine accepts one or two residents each year. This program provides clinical practice experience, patient care training and exposure to scientific research. This four-year program follows a one-year internship in a clinical specialty, as required by the American Board of Radiology.

Undergraduate Education

The Radiation Therapy Bachelor of Science (BS) degree program, sponsored by the IU School of Medicine on the school’s Indianapolis campus, provides academic and clinical education to students training for a career in radiation therapy.
