The Indiana University School of Medicine Genetic Testing Laboratories are a team of national clinical reference laboratories that offer an extensive menu of high-complexity medical tests in the specialties of cytogenetics, biochemical genetics, pharmacogenomics and molecular genetics.
Biochemical Genetics
The Biochemical Genetics Laboratory specializes in small molecule analyte tests for the diagnosis and management of patients with inborn errors of metabolism. Tests include mass spectrometry assays for amino acids, acylcarnitines and organic acids.
Cytogenetics
The Cytogenetics Laboratory has been a national leader in the field of cytogenetics for over 5 decades, providing chromosomal microarray, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and karyotype evaluation of both constitutional and neoplastic disorders across all age groups.
Diagnostic Genomics
The Diagnostic Genomics Laboratory provides competitive clinical somatic (cancer) and germline genomics testing services to IU Health and state of Indiana.
Molecular and Pharmacogenomics
A wide range of molecular tests are provided by the genetic testing labs, including molecular testing for inherited disorders, oncology, and pharmacogenomics.
