Postdoctoral Training

Postdoctoral opportunities are available in various research areas within the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Pharmacology. Postdoctoral fellows experience a dynamic and collaborative research atmosphere that offers chances to work with faculty members and research groups.

Faculty serve as mentors and principal investigators on multiple NIH-funded training grants, including those in addiction, diabetes, and cancer. All trainees are encouraged to prepare their own fellowship applications for national funding opportunities, such as those from the National Institutes of Health, the American Heart Association, or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.

Fellows are required to participate in department research seminars and journal clubs. Participation in national and international scientific meetings is highly encouraged.
