The benefit plan a postdoctoral researcher receives at IU School of Medicine depends on the classification of the postdoctoral appointment. Two types of postdoctoral researchers train at IU School of Medicine: postdoctoral appointees and postdoctoral fellows. IU School of Medicine requires that all postdoctoral researchers be compensated at least the Year 0 NRSA minimum salary rate which adjusts every July 1 according to the rate set the previous calendar year or based on approval by the executive associate dean for research affairs.
