Education Programs

The Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Pharmacology prepares students for successful careers in modern biomedical sciences — in clinical medicine, industry and academics — through courses for medical students as well as MS and PhD graduate programs.

The department is well-equipped to provide extensive support for learners at all levels, as well as opportunities for students to excel inside and outside the lab. Graduate students in the department can pursue a PhD or MS degree, or train for the MD/PhD dual degree offered through the Medical Scientist Training Program. Students graduate with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the field of biochemical sciences.

MD Education

Faculty instruct medical students in biochemistry, molecular biology, and pharmacology during basic science courses in Phase 1 of the MD curriculum.

Graduate Degrees

The department's master's and doctoral degrees offer cutting-edge training led by exceptional faculty with expertise in biochemistry, molecular biology and pharmacology.

Postdoctoral Training

Postdoctoral opportunities and training are offered across a broad range of research areas that use molecular, cellular, and systems-level approaches.
