2025 Paul E. Lacy Award Recipient

Alvin C. Powers, MD, is the recipient of the 2025 Paul E. Lacy Award — the highest award given by MIC to honor highly meritorious career achievement in the field of islet biology. Powers is the Joe C. Davis Chair in Biomedical Science, professor of medicine in molecular physiology and biophysics, Director of the Vanderbilt Diabetes Center and Chief in the Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
