Division of Obstetrics and Gynecology

Obstetrics and gynecology specialists, or OB-GYNs, conduct research and provide care for women before, during and after pregnancy. General obstetrical care for pregnant women includes ultrasounds, prenatal care, childbirth education, labor and more while general gynecologic care may include well-woman visits, pap smears, birth control, menopause care and more. Physicians who specialize in this area provide women’s health care starting in adolescence and throughout many stages of life, whether they are planning to conceive, preventing pregnancy, are pregnant, are postpartum or experiencing menopause.

Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology faculty physicians provide exceptional women’s health care through the school’s strong partnership with Indiana University Health. They also conduct research in many areas of OB-GYN that lead to new and innovative methods of care and train the next generation of OB-GYNs through the department’s residency program.
