Health Professions Program students are required to fulfill all compliance obligations for new and returning students before commencing their individual programs. Applicants are advised to refrain from initiating this process until they have received an official offer of admission.
Non-compliance with any of these requirements may result in the rescindment of the admission offer, a postponement of clinical training or the inability to complete the program.
Requirements for incoming students (first year)
- Background check and drug screen
- Immunizations and health screen
- Tuberculosis surveillance (one IGRA result within six months of program start date)
- Flu vaccine (to be completed annually) *
- Fit testing ^
- COVID 19 vaccination (recommended)
- Proof of health insurance
- Basic life support (BLS) certification
Requirements for returning students (second year)
- Background check and drug screen
- Health screen
- Tuberculosis surveillance (one IGRA result within six months of program start date)
- Flu vaccine (to be completed annually) *
- Proof of health insurance
* Flu vaccine should be completed after August 1 of each year.
^ Fit testing is a requirement for Paramedic Science, Radiography, Diagnostic Sonography and clinical Medical Imaging Technology students only.
Exceptions
Students in the Respiratory Therapy program complete requirements set forth by the Indiana Respiratory Therapy Consortium and may disregard these instructions.
Students in the Histotechnology program that are employees of their clinical site may disregard these instructions.
