Admission Requirements

The IU School of Medicine Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program offers 10 intern positions through the National Resident Matching Program.

To be selected for an interview, candidates must complete an application through ResidencyCAS by the September 25th deadline and meet the examination requirements below.

We adhere to all APGO/CREOG residency application recommendations:

  • A post-graduate cut-off of two years or less is preferred but not required.
  • There is no minimum U.S. Medical Licensing Exam score required, but applicants must pass on the first attempt.
  • An obstetrics chair letter is not required; however, at least one of the three required letters should be from an OB-GYN.

Once completed, each application is reviewed and a decision is made whether to offer the candidate an invitation to interview.

More information on the application process timeline can be found on the Council of Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG) website.
