Elements software offers a new way to manage your teaching, research and service activities and streamline the faculty annual review process. Rolling out in fall 2025 at IU School of Medicine, Elements replaces DMAI and offers a smoother experience and more robust reporting tools for data visualization and use.
Rollout timeline
Much of Indiana University rolled out the use of Elements in fall 2024. However, the School of Medicine chose to work with the software developer to implement customized data feeds that are unique and necessary for our faculty — including improved data input from internal and external sources.
All School of Medicine-specific customizations were completed as of Nov. 1, 2025. You may now review and update all areas of your Elements account, including:
- Profile information
- Scholarly and creative works
- Grants and contracts
- Service and leadership
- Teaching activities
What does this mean for you?
All faculty must confirm that all imported data are correct and enter any additional research, teaching and service activities from the year 2025 before faculty annual reviews begin in January 2026.
More information is coming soon.
We know faculty will have questions. And while we don't have all the answers yet, we will keep you informed as well as possible as we move forward.
