Advanced Statistics Summer Workshop

June 2–13, 2025

The Department of Biostatistics and Health Data Science is offering a two-week comprehensive summer workshop featuring three courses of advanced statistical topics commonly encountered in medical research. The workshop is tailored for physicians, scientists and researchers actively engaged in biomedical research and taught by biostatistics and data science faculty who bring real-world experience.

What is the future of AI in health care?

The future of artificial intelligence (AI) is fascinating at best, and dangerous at worst. Experts from the Department of Biostatistics and Health Data Science at IU School of Medicine and the Regenstrief Institute recently gathered for the 3rd annual Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare Innovation Conference, “Moving from Reactive to Proactive,” to share the latest research, uses and potential of AI.

IU School of Medicine names new chair to lead Department of Biostatistics and Health Data Science

Indiana University School of Medicine has appointed Kun Huang, PhD, as chair of the Department of Biostatistics and Health Data Science, effective October 1, 2021. Huang brings a tremendous amount of research, education and leadership experience to the role. He currently serves as vice chair for data science and professor with the department. 

Barry P. Katz Lectureship in Biostatistics and Health Data Science

The Barry P. Katz Lectureship in Biostatistics and Health Data Science brings internationally recognized experts in biostatistics and health data science to speak at IU School of Medicine and the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health.
