I’m Matthew Tews, DO, associate dean and campus director, and I’m excited to welcome you to a campus that offers a uniquely enriching and supportive environment for your medical education.
Here in West Lafayette, you’ll find more than just a rigorous academic experience — you’ll become part of a collaborative community dedicated to learning, service and excellence. Our talented faculty and top-notch staff are passionate about teaching, mentoring and preparing students for every step of their medical journey. We are proud to offer outstanding clinical training and meaningful hands-on experiences that start early and continue throughout your time here. Through our strong partnerships with institutions such as Purdue University, Indiana University Health, Franciscan Health and Riverbend Hospital, we provide robust opportunities for learning, research and clinical care across all four years of your medical education.
Our campus is also home to unique programs that reflect our commitment to serving diverse communities and advancing medical technology. These include the Care of Hispanic and Latino Patients Scholarly Concentration, which prepares students to provide culturally competent care, and the Biomedical Engineering and Applied Medical Technologies Scholarly Concentration, which leverages our partnership with Purdue University to explore innovations at the intersection of medicine and engineering. Students can also engage with the local community through service-learning opportunities like the Crossroads Student Outreach Clinic, gaining real-world experience while making a difference.
West Lafayette is a dynamic and inspiring place to learn medicine, and we’re proud of the opportunities we provide for personal and professional growth. I encourage you to explore all that our campus has to offer — and I look forward to seeing the impact you’ll make.
