Medical Service Learning

Indianapolis is the hub for many of the IU School of Medicine service-learning projects and various community outreach opportunities. Service-learning projects are active student-led initiatives where student groups are partnered with a local or national non-profit for regular service opportunities. Students have worked with our community partnerships, organizations and non-profits through Americorps, the Community Immersion Project, or independently.

Indy is also the home to the Indiana University Student Outreach Clinic, one of the largest and most interprofessional student run clinics in the country. It is a prime example of a clinical service-learning opportunity for students.
