About Ashleigh
Ashleigh joined the Office of Gift Development in 2020. As a part of the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center development team, Ashleigh leads the annual giving efforts on behalf of the cancer center, and manages several long-running annual gift programs including the center's signature event, the Chuckstrong Tailgate Gala, as well as Miles for Myeloma and 100 Voices of Hope.
Formerly, Ashleigh was a litigation attorney working for a firm in Indy representing clients battling cancer and lung disease. She graduated from IU’s McKinney School of Law in 2008. A native of Buffalo, NY, Ashleigh earned her undergraduate degree from Syracuse University and her master’s degree from the University of Kansas.
Unfortunately, Ashleigh is no stranger to cancer. Her parents relocated to Indy after both Ashleigh and her brother settled here, and her father was diagnosed with stomach cancer. He was treated at IU and has celebrated more than six years of survivorship. In her spare time, Ashleigh enjoys spending time with her husband Chris, daughter Maren, stepson Asher, and west highland terrier Rudy. The Wahls are big fans of IndyCar and can often be found at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
