Down Syndrome

Advance your clinical research journey with PARTNERS-DS, a short course built for early career investigators passionate about improving the lives of people with Down syndrome. Learn from experienced researchers and community partners to strengthen your skills, deepen your understanding and spark innovative, collaborative research. This online component is meant to be an introduction to the content and can be complimented by the in-person course or taken alone. The modules in this course are intended to broaden investigators’ understanding of common co-occurring conditions from infancy through adulthood, highlighting the impact across organ systems.This course is designed to equip Down syndrome researchers with a comprehensive, lifespan-oriented perspective that strengthens study design, outcome selection and enhance opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration.

Course Availability: Sept. 4, 2026-Sept. 3, 2028

Audience: This course is targeted to a wide range of learners from primary care physicians, nurses, social workers and medical students to physical therapists, occupational therapists and genetic counselors. Specific specialty areas would include adolescent medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, child and adolescent psychiatry, child neurology, medical genetics, endocrinology, dermatopathology, and pediatric hematology and oncology.

CE Credits Provided: AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ and American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). All other professions will be awarded non-physician attendance hours.
