As 2024 came to a close, IU School of Medicine students from across the state participated in a month-long reading challenge during December. Students from all classes and campuses joined the friendly, intercampus competition to bring home the title of “Most Well-Read Campus."
Congratulations to this year’s title winner: the EVANSVILLE campus!
Evansville read an average of 2,174 minutes—congratulations to Emily Ryan, Sydney Young, Jenna Zirkelbach, Savannah Cook, Evalyn Sherer, Kolbe Roscoe, Tori Whichard, and Adalyn De Witt. Enjoy your pizza party, courtesy of the Wellness Coalition!
In addition to the excellence displayed by the Evansville campus, there was one reader who went above and beyond the other 84 participants and earned the title of “Top Reader” at IU School of Medicine for the second year in a row: Semanti Naiken, an MS2 in Indianapolis. Some facts courtesy of Naiken:
- Read 16,129 minutes (over 11 full days)!
- Number of books: 22
- Favorite book this month: "The Will of the Many" by James Islington
