Aliza Ayaz, MBBS
Resident Appointee
Bio
Why I chose Family Medicine: I chose family medicine because the most rewarding part of medicine, for me, has always been patient interactions. I really value understanding people beyond just their illnesses, and family medicine allows me to combine clinical care with continuity, compassion, and a more holistic approach to health, which is exactly the kind of physician I aspire to be. Why I chose the IU Family Medicine Residency Program: I chose the IU Family Medicine Residency Program because of the program’s academic setting and focus on education, mentorship, fellowship support, and multiple specialty tracks like Global Health, and CPOUD. During the social events hosted by residents, their camaraderie and transparency about resident wellness and the opportunities to grow and explore personal interests made me even more confident in choosing IU as the next step in my professional development. Interests and hobbies: I enjoy traveling, trying new restaurants, spending time with my family, solving jigsaw puzzles, and learning new things.
