Bio
Why I chose Family Medicine: Through my patient interactions during medical school and my experiences volunteering in the community, I found that Family Medicine felt like a natural calling because it brings together everything that inspired me to pursue medicine. I was drawn to the unique breadth of this specialty, the ability to care for patients across all stages of life, from newborns to older adults, while incorporating areas such as women’s health, chronic disease management, preventive care, and procedural skills. What I love most about Family Medicine is the combination of clinical variety and meaningfulrelationships. I enjoy getting to know my patients, listening to their stories, understanding their concerns, and building trust over time. I find fulfillment in being a physician they can turn to not onlyduring times of illness, but also for guidance, prevention, and support throughout their lives. Why I chose IUSM at Deaconess Memorial: I chose the IUSM at Deaconess Memorial Family Medicine Residency because it offers the opportunity to train in a close-knit community setting while caring for a diverse patient population. I appreciate the balance of hands-on clinical experience and strong faculty support, which allows residents to take an active role in patient care while continuing to learn and grow. Beyond the clinical training, what stood out to me most was the welcoming culture and the faculty’sgenuine commitment to teaching and supporting residents. The program provides an environmentwhere residents feel encouraged, challenged, and prepared to become compassionate, well-rounded family physicians. Personal interests and hobbies: Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, exploring new places, and being a little touristy wherever I go. I consider myself an adventurous person and enjoy trying new experiences. I love dancing, especially Bollywood dance, as it is a fun way to stay active and express myself. I also enjoy swimming and painting, not for the masterpiece, but for the mindfulness and relaxation it brings.
