Bio
Why I chose Family Medicine: I chose family medicine because itallows me to provide comprehensive, continuous care while maintaining a strong focus on women’s health. Throughout my training, I was consistently drawn to caring for women—whether through preventive care, reproductive health, or supporting patients through important life transitions—and I value the opportunity to build long-term relationships that extend beyond episodic care. Family medicine offers a unique platform to integrate women’s health into a broader, patient-centered approach, allowing me to care for patients across different stages of life while also addressing the needs of families and communities. I am especially interested in expanding access to women’s care, including contraception, prenatal counseling, and health education, particularly in settings where access may be limited. This combination of continuity, advocacy, and the ability to make a meaningful impact in women’s health is what drew me to family medicine and continues to motivate me in my training. Why I chose the IU Arnett Family Medicine Residency Program: I chose the IU Arnett Family Medicine Residency Program because of its strong emphasis on full-spectrum family medicine and its commitment to comprehensive women’s health within a supportive, community-focused environment. I was particularly drawn to the opportunity to develop skills in continuity care while serving a diverse patient population. Additionally, my partner is currently a resident in Indiana, and although neither of us is originally from the area, being able to train in the same region is very meaningful to me. It allows me to stay grounded personally while fully investing in my professional growth, which I believe will make me a stronger and more present resident. Personal interests and hobbies: Outside of medicine, I really enjoy staying active—especially through spinning and group workout classes. It’s something I look forward to because it helps me manage stress, stay disciplined, and maintain balance. I also enjoy the sense of community that comes with group fitness, which is something I value both personally and professionally.
