Bio
Why I chose Family Medicine: My passion for Family Medicine grew from my experiences working in underserved and rural areas, where I was able to see the profound impact of building long-term relationships with patients. I’m drawn to Family Medicine because it allows me to care for patients across all ages and stages of life, providing holistic care that is both diverse and comprehensive. It’s a specialty that lets me not only address immediate health needs but also emphasize prevention, wellness, and continuity of care, which deeply resonates with my desire to create lasting connections with my patients.
Why I chose the IU Family Medicine Residency Program: The IU Family Medicine Residency Program stood out to me because of its collaborative environment and its commitment to comprehensive, patient-centered care. During my clinical rotations, I was inspired by the teamwork among residents, faculty, and medical staff, and the program's focus on both professional growth and community involvement. The opportunity to engage in global health initiatives and contribute to healthcare in underserved areas is something I find particularly motivating. The inclusive and supportive nature of the program aligns perfectly with my aspirations as I continue to develop as a physician.
Interests and hobbies: I find joy in cooking, especially experimenting with different cuisines, as it allows me to unwind and explore my creativity. Running has helped me achieve personal health goals but also serves as a form of meditation and mental clarity. I enjoy reading motivational books, which push me to grow beyond my comfort zone and continually pursue self-improvement. Lastly, I have a love for travel, as experiencing new cultures and environments broadens my perspective and enriches my personal and professional life.
Languages I speak fluently: English and Spanish
