Bio
Why I chose Family Medicine: I chose family medicine because it allows me to care for patients throughout their lives, addressing a wide range of health needs. During my time in Honduras, I gained experience in various areas of medicine, which deepened my appreciation for the comprehensive nature of family medicine. From preventive care to managing chronic conditions, I have seen firsthand how family medicine enables physicians to address diverse health concerns and often serve as the first point of contact for patients. I am drawn to the diversity of this field and the opportunity to care for a wide variety of patient populations.
Why I chose the IU Family Medicine Residency Program: I chose the IU Family Medicine Residency Program because of its commitment to providing a well-rounded, comprehensive training experience that aligns with my goals as a future physician. The program's emphasis on community-oriented care and its focus on serving diverse patient populations resonates deeply with me. During my observership at IU, I had the opportunity to experience the supportive and collaborative environment firsthand. I truly appreciated the sense of community, the care shown by everyone, and the overall family-like atmosphere that made me feel welcomed and valued.
Interests and hobbies: I enjoy spending time outdoors, whether it's hiking or scuba diving, as it helps me stay active and clear-headed. I also love reading, particularly fantasy books, as they allow me to unwind and spark my creativity.
Languages I speak fluently: English and Spanish
