Why I chose Family Medicine: I chose family medicine because it is uniquely positioned as a specialty to be the entry point for patients to the healthcare system while also being able to meet a wide variety of needs for patients of any age. Family medicine also allows relationships to be strengthened over time with patients, which l believe is extremely important when working to make lasting changes in a patient’s life. Why I chose the IU Arnett Family Medicine Residency Program: I chose the IU Arnett Family Medicine Residency Program because I knew I wanted to continue serving the Indiana community after moving here for medical school. My time speaking with faculty and residents at the interview gave me a really good feeling about how well everyone works together to support each other and create the best learning environment possible which was very important for me in choosing a residency. Personal interests and hobbies: My personal interests include fishing, cooking, working on cars, working on computers, video games, traveling, and spending time with family.
