Bio
Why I chose Family Medicine: I chose family medicine because I value the opportunity to work directly with patients, develop lasting relationships with them, and work with them to meet their health goals. While a medical student I enjoyed many of my rotations in all settings, from inpatient to outpatient; working with kids, adults, and families; and caring about women’s health, LGBTQ+ healthcare, preventative health, and procedures. Family Medicine is the only specialty where physicians can connect so deeply with our patients while practicing medicine so broadly. It was a natural fit, and I couldn’t be more excited to join such a wonderful specialty.
Why I chose the IU Family Medicine Residency Program: I am excited to be at IU and particularly in Indianapolis because this is my home. I believe very strongly in the idea that we can do the most good in our own backyard. Indy is not just my home, but my community. With the outstanding faculty, endless opportunities to learn, and chance to serve people here in Indianapolis, there is nowhere I would rather train than at IU.
Interests and hobbies: Outside of medicine I like to spend time going out with my friends to new restaurants, drag shows, and movies. I enjoy reading fantasy, science fiction, and romance novels. And, I love spending time with my sweet 11 year old beagle, Clyde.
