The Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship program in Clinical Health Psychology at Indiana University School of Medicine is a one-year program that trains clinical health psychologists with a specialty in serving the diverse and complex population of medically ill patients treated at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital and the Advanced Heart and Lung Care Clinic, which serve individuals across the state of Indiana and beyond.
The program has an emphasis in cardiac-pulmonary behavioral medicine and transplant psychology. Fellows will have the opportunity to train in both outpatient and medical inpatient settings conducting both evaluation and intervention services. Pre-transplant evaluations, consultation-liaison services and individual/group psychotherapy interventions are part of the clinical protocol.
As part of the transplant program at IU Health, fellows may have the opportunity to do a specialty rotation in abdominal/solid organ transplant at IU Health University Hospital. In addition to these clinical experiences, fellows will also be involved in additional research experiences, as well as clinical supervision of pre-doctoral psychology interns and/or psychology practicum students. Opportunities for fellows to teach or supervise with IU School of Medicine may be part of the training experience.
