Research Summary/Bio
Konstantinos Koukoutegos holds an MEng in electrical and computer engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, where he specialized in electronics and computer systems and completed a master thesis on transcriptomics data analysis. He earned his PhD in biomedical sciences from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL), Belgium, in 2025. His doctoral research focused on the development of AI in renal CT imaging and its practical application in clinical radiology workflows. During his PhD, he completed internships at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), where he worked on regulatory science for AI-enabled medical devices, and at the Center for Virtual Imaging Trials (CVIT) at Duke University, contributing to the development of 3D organ models for virtual CT studies.
