The Cardiovascular Institute at Indiana University School of Medicine and IU Health is accepting nominations for the 2023 Krannert Prize in Translational Cardiovascular Research, awarded to a senior scientist who has achieved international impact through translational cardiovascular science.
In 1963, Herman and Ellnora Krannert established the Krannert Heart Research Institute at IU School of Medicine, subsequently known as the Krannert Institute of Cardiology. In 2019, IU Health and IU School of Medicine established the Cardiovascular Institute to realize a vision of one, diverse academic health enterprise where people come to realize the highest quality heart and vascular care while also enabling relentless innovation that fuels better health for Indiana and beyond. In 2021, Krannert Institute of Cardiology was reimagined as the Krannert Cardiovascular Research Center—the research engine of the institute. Since its inception, Krannert Cardiovascular Research Center has accelerated the translation of discovery in cardiovascular science to impact human health, garnering national and international recognition for such.
