About Catherine
Catherine Zimmermann joined IU School of Medicine—Evansville in 2011. Previously, her work focused on building local nonprofit growth through strategic community engagement and fundraising efforts. Her early work in collaborative advancement was instrumental in her role as a part of a consortium developed to bring multiple academic health programs together to learn under one roof and expand medical education and clinical research in southwestern Indiana. As an accomplished fundraiser with over 20 years of experience, she enjoys working in her comprehensive regional role as she engages with donors at all levels, including major and principal gifts.
Her leadership skills in fund development, communications, special events and public relations have played a vital role in the successful and ongoing growth of the innovative programs at the Evansville campus. Catherine is a graduate of the University of Evansville and holds a certificate in fund raising management from the Lilly School of Philanthropy. In 2004, she received the Sagamore of the Wabash Governor’s Award for her nonprofit work with the local children’s museum. She enjoys reading, gardening and spending time with her family in Evansville.
