About Andrea
Andrea joined IU School of Medicine in 2017 and currently serves as the executive director of advancement for the neurosciences. In this role, she supports the department chairs and center directors of the Neuroscience Institute, including the Departments of Neurology and Neurological Surgery and the Stark Neuroscience Research Institute. Previously, she held leadership fundraising positions at Purdue University, serving most recently as the director of advancement in the College of Science overseeing all fundraising and alumni relations efforts. There, she was responsible for leading and achieving the college’s capital campaign goals as part of the university’s $2 billion capital campaign. A creative advancement professional with over twenty years of experience in relationship building, strategic planning, and leadership, she began her career in Indianapolis at Indiana Landmarks. She then moved to the southwest to be an advocate for public television with Eight, Arizona PBS at Arizona State University, before returning to the Midwest.
Andrea is passionate about higher education, scientific and medical philanthropy and loves that she gets to see the impact of her work in faculty and patient successes every day. She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Butler University and an MBA from the WP Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. When Andrea is not at work she loves to spend time with her family, travel and listen to her husband play music at The Jazz Kitchen in Indianapolis.
