Dr. Brian Leland joined the IU School of Medicine faculty in 2016 after completing a Fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care medicine.  Dr Leland is a Physician Ethicist, serves as the Medical Director for Pediatric Ethics at Riley Hospital for Children, and directs the Clinical Ethics Fellowship at the Charles Warren Fairbanks Center for Medical Ethics.  Dr. Leland is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics within the division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.  As an Indiana native committed to serving the needs of his home state, Dr. Leland completed medical school, Pediatric residency, and Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship through the Indiana University School of Medicine.

As a second generation physician, Dr. Leland gained an appreciation for the practice of medicine at an early age, with a particular interest in the care of children.  He was drawn to the field of pediatric critical care where he identified clinical ethics to be an area of significant need.  Implementing his formal training and interests, Dr. Leland has been tasked with Pediatric Ethics program development for the Department of Pediatrics and the hospital at large.
